Guest List & Wedding Budget
So last week I answered a questions from a follwer on CC's Celebratoins & More facebook page(www.facebook.com/celebrationsbycc) about wedding budget and what you could get with it. Well I answered with the unexpected... I gave 2 examples of budgets and what you could get with those budgets but it came down to one factor. You guessed it- YOUR GUEST LIST.Disclaimer- It's hard to hear and I try not to sway my couples...I completely understand how hard it is to want to have a wedding and invite everyone you know and love to share in the most memorable day of your lives. Or there is that time where you feel obligated to invite guests who you work with, your parents business associates, extended family because you were invited to theirs and so forth and so on. I get it, the struggle/anxiety can be real, especially when you have a specific budget that the both of you have decided on and want to stick too. Good for you!!!!I explained that the larger the guest count (125) the harder it will be to have a nice wedding on $5000 unless you make some concessions. I gave a couple options such as having a cake reception or cocktail reception for your guests after the ceremony. Yet again I will say it comes down to your guest count and the location. If you are considering the options I gave you, then you are looking at roughly a $2000 venue for something like that. Again this number is determined on location & estimated. There is so much that goes into the budget number and when you start to count food costs, drink costs and cake costs the final guest count matters.A budget of $10,000, I have to say it, "Please consider cutting your guest list to 75 guests or less, if you want to have your dream wedding." If you want that perfect DJ you found for your entertainment or that photographer that WOW'd you with their photos, there are concessions to make. 75 or less guest count is a good number just because we need to consider again the venue, a seat for the guest, food for the guest, drinks, cake, your vendors, that beautiful dress you so wanted and his tux or suit.... Those are just to name a few..I know it is hard to hear and you want everyone to celebrate your love. So I have another suggestion for you to consider. How about a day after brunch reception or small get together after the wedding? A nice small reception for the guests that could not attend your wedding to come and celebration your love with the both of you. Inclusion is key and will help ease the process.Hard decisions are made during the wedding(event) planning process and these are one of those moments. We walk with you through the whole process giving suggestions and years of experience advisement. Ultimately it is Your Day, Our Couples day and we are here to ensure that you have that most memorable beautiful day, no matter Your Decision...I have added at the bottom of the blog a sample (suggestion only) of how to consider who to invite to your special dayKeep sending in your questions or requests, we will do our best to answer them for you.In the meanwhile Happy Planning Everyone!
